Air One was founded in 1983 as Aliadriatica. It is a low-cost carrier which is based in Italy and operates flights from its main hubs located in Milan and Pisa.

Since 2009 Air One „Smart Carrier“ has been a leisure subsidiary of Alitalia, based in Milan Malpensa Airport and operates low-cost flights on behalf of its parent company.

For its frequent flyers the airline has a loyalty program MilleMiglia where passengers can earn miles when flying. Checked baggage can be purchased for additional charges.
