Lufthansa is based in Germany and operates flights from its main hubs located in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart. It is one of the largest traditional airlines in Europe and the flag carrier of Germany. Moreover Lufthansa is the world's fifth largest airline in terms of overall passengers carried and it operates scheduled services to many destinations in more than 70 countries.
Lufthansa was founded in 1926 as Deutsche Luft Hansa Aktiengesellschaft and it started to operate under its current name in 1933. Lufthansa is a founding member of Star Alliance and owns many subsidiaries such as Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines and others. Both on-board refreshments and checked baggage allowance are included in the ticket price.
