Air France – online check-in
Use Internet and avoid queuing up at the airport. All you have to do is to log in using your e-ticket/reservation number. Then choose your flight and select your seat. The next step is to print your boarding card or, if you prefer, to receive it on e-mail or as an MMS/SMS.
There is more you can do using the web check-in option, e.g. purchasing extra baggage or cancelling your check-in. Internet check-in is available 30 hours prior to your flight.
Air France – Airport check-in
Once at the airport, you can either let the staff of Air France take care of the whole thing or check in using the self-service kiosks. If the latter is the case, you proceed pretty much as described above, that is to say – choose your flight and seat and print your boarding card. Once you are done, you deliver your baggage to the drop-off counter.
The self-service kiosks are available on the day of departure.
Air France – automatic check-in
Surprise – there is yet another way of checking in. They call it automatic check-in. What it means is that you … do not have to check in. When booking, you simply indicate where you would like to sit and how you prefer to get your boarding card. Some 30 hours prior to your flight you get your boarding card.
This option is available for passengers travelling across Europe, between Europe and North-Africa as well as on certain long-distance flights. Visit the website of Air France and make sure it applies to your flight!
