Among the latest stories are routes from Qatar Airways and Vueling. Read on for details.

But we start off with good news for travellers departing from Glasgow. The British-based low-cost airline Jet2 is going to launch several new routes from Glasgow Airport to popular leisure destinations in the summer season 2013. The new routes are Glasgow – Mahon, Glasgow – Pula, Glasgow – Murcia and Glasgow – Lanzarote.

The award-winning Middle-Eastern carrier Qatar Airways continues its expansion. The airline offers flights to Burma as of October 3. Qatar Airways has been present in Yangon Airport in the past and now is back after a four years break.

As opposed to the economy of its home-country, the Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling seems to be doing really well. The airline has just announced quite a number of new routes from Barcelona. Among them are Barcelona – Bergen, Barcelona – Casablanca or Barcelona – Düsseldorf. The new services are scheduled for 2013

Last but not least, the cooperation between Finnair and the UK-based Flybe will expand as the latter will take over more than 10 European routes from Finnair. The takeover is aimed at increasing the profitability of the Finnish carrier.
