Cathay Pacific to open new international services to Chicago and Abu Dhabi
The launch of two new routes has been announced today. Cathay Pacific Airways is expanding it's international presence by adding direct flights from the Hong Kong base. Starting mid 2011, flights to Chicago and Abu Dhabi will be available.
From Hong Kong to Chicago and Abu Dhabi
The airline is boosting it's Hong Kong hub by adding routes to two large cities. Passengers from the Mid-Western United States will have a better connectivity to Asia starting on 1 September, 2011. Flights from Chicago will be operated daily. A code-share agreement with OneWorld alliance partner, American Airlines, is under way.

Four times a week, the passengers from Hong Kong would be able to take advantage of the new route to Abu Dhabi. This service is commencing on 2 June, 2011. Flights will be operated on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday via an Airbus A330–300 aircraft. Tickets for the newly opened routes will be available starting 9 December.
Boosting services to North America
New York and Toronto, the airlines key destinations in North America, will see more flights to Hong Kong. Starting 27 March a total of 24 flights a week are operated on the route Hong Kong – New York. Since 2 May, it will become a four times daily service. Toronto will have added two more flights a week on 1 May, 2011.
