Travelling with low-cost airlines? This infographic may well be your best friend next time you're packing you bags.
For 16 popular low-cost airlines we compared their baggage allowances, costs and fees and bring you the ultimate guide for your next trip. Did you know it can actually be cheaper to pay for your friend to fly with you and carry a piece of baggage, rather than pay up to €135 in Ryanair fees? Or that leaving toiletries at home and buying replacements when you get to your destination can be cheaper than taking them with you?
To help make it all clearer, WhichAirline.com went through the costs related to checked-in baggage and the fees for excess weight from various airlines in Europe and put it all together in one infographic. Check our infographic and find out how to save and what to avoid.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for visiting our web and for your feedback. I have to point out that we refer to extra luggage - a 25 kg bag, the kind of bag you're likely to take on a big longer getaway, not to standard prepaid 20 kg luggage.
regards
Martin
Funny, but not so thoroughly researched. In the case of Ryanair you can book in advance online 2 bags with 15 kg each for a price between €50 and € 80, depending on season and flight.

Hi Niels,
Well, you're quite right. SAS fall absolutely into the traditional carriers-category but we included it for the sake of comparison. Sometimes the so-called cheap carriers turn out not to be exactly as cheap as they want to have us believe!
Thank for reading and commenting!
