Back to news

Shareholders of UAL, the parent company of United Airlines and Continental Airlines, approved the connection of both large US airlines. This step means creating the largest airline in the world – United Airlines Holdings. According to Continental more than 98% of shareholders voted for the merger.

The new airline will be based in Chicago. The merger of the airlines was agreed by both US and EU offices and should be fully completed October 1, 2010.

The merger sounds like a good deal. With Europe and U.S. coming together, I hope that brings more unity between us!
